(RTTNews) - CoreCivic, Inc. (CXW), a corrections and detention services provider, Friday said it has appointed Lucibeth N. Mayberry as president and chief executive officer.

Patrick D. Swindle has resigned as president and CEO due to health reasons and has also stepped down from the company's board.

Mayberry has served as CoreCivic's executive vice president and chief strategy officer since May 2025. She joined CoreCivic in 2003 and has held various roles, including executive vice president and chief innovation officer and executive vice president of Real Estate. Mayberry has also been appointed to the company's board.

CoreCivic shares were down more than 3% in pre-market trading after closing at $34.36 on Thursday.
