The company managing the memecoin calls the November event the "most exclusive dinner in the world."

  • President Donald Trump’s memecoin investors will get another chance to have dinner with the leader of the U.S. executive branch, with the token managers marketing another “gala dinner” for November.
  • Though Trump is set to attend the event at his Washington, D.C,-area club, the three “legends” advertised on the website haven’t yet been announced.
  • Similar events have drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers as brash corruption that grants political connection to those investing the most money.

Investors in Donald Trump's memecoin are getting another shot at being in a room with the U.S. president, the third such event following others that drew criticism from Democratic lawmakers as an openly corrupt selling of the White House.

The top 185 registered investors in $TRUMP will be invited through the doors of his Trump National private club in Washington, D.C., on November 22, according to the website that manages $TRUMP events. The VIP status — determined by investor engagement in the token — will be locked on November 12, the organization said.

When the "gala dinner" was announced, the price of the coin popped up about 10% to $2.25 before sinking again near the level it's been at in recent days — still a small fraction of the all-time high of around $74.

The event is being billed as the "most exclusive dinner in the world," and is advertising that three other "legends" will join the president, though none have yet been identified.

One thing is for sure, according to the club: "No attendees will be granted a private meet & greet with the President."

That had been a point of disappointment for some participants in past events: While Trump briefly appeared, they didn't get a chance to meet him.

Since his memecoin's launch in the days before he took office again, investors have lost billions of dollars, and those losses have occupied the spotlight during the recent debates over the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act — the crypto market structure bill in the Senate. With Trump's crypto empire in mind, Democratic lawmakers had insisted that the bill limit the digital asset ties of senior government officials, but that provision could never be worked out, and the bill failed to advance last month.

Trump had said he was willing to concede on some of the requests and potentially place his crypto holdings in a blind trust or divest them, but the deal fell apart when the bill failed.

The first Trump memecoin event was also at Trump's Washington-era golf club, and protesters — including congressional Democrats — gathered outside to accuse the president of corruption as unidentified guests gathered.

In April, Trump held a related conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida for memecoin holders, at which former champion boxer Mike Tyson appeared.

This time, the top "VIPs" will be given gifts, including a commemorative poster and "TRUMP fragrance." The website's tally of current registrants shows that the top investors seeking invitations each hold hundreds of thousands of coins.
