South Korea Crypto Trading Volume Drops 89% as KOSPI Surges 114%

Average daily trading volume across South Korea’s five largest crypto exchanges fell about 89% year over year, dropping from $2.82 billion in July 2025 to $305 million. During the same period, the KOSPI gained 114.44%, highlighting a shift toward equities. ZDNet Korea also reported an 88% daily volume decline on Monday, while weaker trading revenue pushed some exchanges to sell crypto assets. Korbit sold 15 BTC and 60 ETH, raising about KRW 1.6 billion ($1 million) for operations.
