Goldman Sachs Returns as Top XRP ETF Holder as XRP Jumps 40%
  • Goldman Sachs reported $86.5 million across five XRP ETFs in its Q2 2026 filing.

  • Meanwhile, Bitwise and Franklin XRP ETFs account for Goldman’s largest positions.

  • XRP price has jumped more than 40% this week, reaching around $1.37.

Goldman Sachs, which oversees more than $4.0 trillion in total assets under management (AUM), has returned as the largest institutional holder of XRP ETFs after reporting $86.5 million across five XRP funds in its Q2 2026 filing.

The move comes as XRP has climbed more than 40% this week, rising from near $1 to around $1.37.

Goldman Sachs Spreads $86.5M Across XRP ETFs

Goldman Sachs reported XRP ETF holdings across several funds instead of putting the money into a single product. Its latest filing shows:

  • Bitwise XRP ETF: $25.76 million
  • Franklin XRP Trust: $25.41 million
  • Canary XRP ETF: $19.49 million
  • 21Shares XRP ETF: $8.21 million
  • Grayscale XRP Trust: $7.66 million

Together, the positions bring Goldman Sachs’ reported XRP ETF exposure to about $86.5 million.

The return is notable because the bank had reported no XRP ETF holdings in its previous filing. Goldman had also previously held a $153 million position before exiting, making the latest filing another major change in its XRP exposure.

Why Goldman Sachs Left and Returned

When XRP ETFs launched, Goldman Sachs helped them as an authorized participant, a role that helps create and manage ETF shares.

This could explain why XRP holdings appeared in its records and later disappeared. The Q1 exit may have simply been linked to moving ETF holdings after the funds became active.

Now, Goldman Sachs has reported new XRP holdings across several products in Q2. This makes the latest holdings worth watching, as they show fresh exposure to XRP.

XRP Price Jumps 40% This Week

Goldman’s return comes as XRP has posted a strong rally this week. The XRP token has gained about 40% in a week and was recently trading near $1.37.

According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot XRP ETFs also recorded $13.24 million in net inflows on August 20.

The XRP rally has also been supported by a new partnership involving Ripple, Clearpool and Cicada Credit to build an institutional lending platform on the XRP Ledger. The project targets the $10 billion-plus private credit market, potentially bringing more financial activity to XRPL.

Trading volume has risen 116.85% to more than $10.2 billion, while XRP’s RSI is near 65, showing strong momentum without reaching deeply overbought levels.

XRP now needs to hold above $1.26 to keep the current momentum intact. A break above $1.42 could open the way toward $1.51.

On the downside, losing $1.22 could weaken the rally and push XRP toward the $1.08 area.
