The top 10 XRP wallets hold around 11% of the cryptocurrency’s total supply, while the 10 largest identified owners control approximately 60%, according to an analysis of XRP Ledger balances checked on October 13, 2026. The difference comes from counting individual wallet addresses versus combining accounts linked to the same owner.
Crypto analyst cheeky crypto used account balances from the XRP Ledger and labels provided by XRPScan. These labels identify suspected owners, but they have not been confirmed by every account holder.
How Much XRP Do the Top 10 Wallets Hold?
The 10 largest XRP wallets hold approximately 11 billion XRP. The largest wallet holds around 1.85 billion XRP, while the 10th-largest holds about 500 million XRP.
Five of these wallets are labeled as exchange accounts belonging to Bithumb, Upbit, Binance, Bitbank and Coincheck. Together, they hold around 6 billion XRP. Four wallets are labeled as belonging to Ripple, holding approximately 3 billion XRP, while another wallet holds around 1.8 billion XRP without an identified owner.
Exchange wallets can contain XRP belonging to thousands of customers, meaning their balances do not necessarily represent coins owned by the exchanges themselves.

XRP Rich List Shows Ripple Holds Around 36% of Supply
As per updated XRP rich list , the 10 biggest XRP holders own around 60% of all XRP when all their wallets and Ripple’s locked XRP are counted together.
Ripple accounts and its locked escrow contain approximately 35.6 billion XRP, representing around 36% of the total supply. Upbit follows with about 6.4 billion XRP, while Coinbase-linked accounts hold nearly 5.8 billion XRP across 344 labeled accounts.
According to cheeky’s analysis estimates that exchanges and custodians account for around 22% of the XRP supply. Accounts labeled as belonging to Ripple co-founders Chris Larsen and Arthur Britto hold around 4%, while an unidentified wallet holds approximately 2%.
These figures are estimates based on explorer labels and may change if account ownership is identified or existing labels are corrected.
How Ripple Escrow Affects the XRP Rich List
Ripple had approximately 31.4 billion XRP locked in escrow when the ledger balances were checked. Escrow XRP remains locked until its scheduled release, so a wallet-only ranking can miss a significant portion of Ripple’s holdings.
Ripple unlocks 1 billion XRP each month. However, around 700 million XRP per month returned to escrow over the 12 months leading up to October 10, 2026, leaving a net release of approximately 300 million XRP per month.
Two escrow accounts containing 500 million XRP each are scheduled to unlock on November 1, 2026. The amount Ripple locks back into escrow afterward will help determine the net change in its available supply.
Does XRP Have More Wallet Concentration Than Bitcoin?
The analysis found that Bitcoin’s 10 largest addresses held around 6% of its supply, compared with approximately 11% for XRP’s 10 largest wallets. Across the 100 largest addresses, the figures were around 15% for Bitcoin and 32% for XRP.
However, these comparisons count addresses rather than verified owners, and one person or company can control multiple wallets. The analysis estimates Ripple holds around 36% of XRP’s supply, a concentration level not matched by any single Bitcoin holder identified in the comparison.
Large wallet balances alone do not establish whether the coins will be sold. Exchange activity, escrow releases and transfers to other addresses are important factors to monitor when assessing changes in XRP supply.
